LEAD Instructor (Temporary)

Position Description

The LEAD Instructor is a key role for delivering on The Washington Center’s promise to students to provide them with a transformational experience – setting them on a course of achievement, leadership and civic responsibility.  In this role, the LEAD Instructors are responsible for working directly with college and university students to provide excellent instruction, advisement, and professional exploration through the LEAD curriculum and internship experience.  The LEAD Instructor plays a vital role in helping students explore certain careers paths through advising and mentoring throughout the semester. Ideal start date for the position is May 20th, and the position will run through August 23rd, 2019. 

Required Education and Experience  

Required Education and Experience: An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. 

  • Master’s degree in Experiential Education, International Education, Academic Advisement, or other related degrees. 
  • One to three years of work experience.     
  • Experience in leading professional exploration and development in a variety of fields. 
  • Strong ability to advise students regarding their career and professional goals.
  • Experience instructing students in a classroom or small group setting or conduct training programs/seminars/workshops on relevant educational topics required.

Preferred Education/Qualifications and Experience 

  • Experience in working with college students in advising, mentoring, teaching or supervision capacities within specific area desired.
  • Experience in leading professional exploration and development in a variety of fields.
  • Knowledge regarding career development and coaching are desired.

Supervisory Responsibility 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
