Who am I?! And what the heck am I doing here?!
Introversion, Sensing, Thinking, Judging
This is what Myers-Briggs tells me that my personality is. Now before you start to judge me...I am not one of those little lost kids seeking to discover myself within the wonderful world of DC. In fact, just the opposite. I feel that I had a decent grasp on who I was before I took this test, I just wasn't able to intelligently articulate it in the way that using this test allowed me to. So this is my comfort zone...this is what I revert back to when place in uncomfortable situations, or ones in which I have to make decisions.
So here's a little about how the test works. It's one of the most widely used tests in the job market to find out personality types of employees/employers, so Chances are if you haven't heard of it your probably will eventually throughout your lifespan of professional development. So...it's basically a list of questions that takes about 15 minutes to answer. Now when I was taking it a lot of the questions seemed to lack relevance or seemed awkwardly obvious to the point where it seemed like no one would pick the opposite. I guess I was wrong, because while in the session to get my results I heard from people who would have in fact chosen the opposite choice. What were these people thinking?! I guess that's the judging side of my personality seeping out! Just kidding, the judging does not at all mean that I'm judgmental, so again...don't judge me! I digress. Anyway, the results are lined up for you on a spectrum for four different categories. Most people wind up in the middle of the categories, but there are some who are extremely one or the other!
Extraversion-----------------------------Introversion
Sensing----------------------------------Intuition
Thinking---------------------------------Feeling
Judging----------------------------------Perceiving
So those are the categories with their extremes. Like I stated in the beginning, I am an ISTJ! That means I do what should be done (at least that was the little slogan under my combination). I am an organizer, compulsive, private, trustworthy, operate under rules and regulations, and practical. What's interesting is when I look at things in the field in which I want to enter into, I feel that I look at the situations through a very non-practical lense and desire to take the road less traveled. But in all other aspects I feel that this is dead on. Could not be more accurate. Now before you start to think "I never wanna talk to this girl, she seems strict and cold-hearted" that could not be further from the truth. I'm actually a very laid back person and tend to get along with people very well. It might take a little warming up to you, but after that I'm full of love!!! That may have sounded a little mushy, but it's sooooo true! My friends back at school, well they're my sisters, but I love them to death and there's nothing I wouldn't do for them. I am loyal! Well, that's my rant for the day about my personality. Sorry if I bored you, but according to my personality test, I tend to think about your feelings last and what's the best decision first! Sorry, but that's just how the cookie crumbles!
