The RAF: The Beginnings of TWC!
The Residential and Academic Facility
One thing that's great about The Washington Center is the living style! They definitely did not hesitate to set us up when it comes to comfort for the next couple of months. I remember looking on the website before I fully decided to apply to this program and thinking, there is no way that they are going to let a bunch of students come in to a place like that. But they did! The place looks just like the pictures online. Another interesting thing is that all the apartments are set up differently (so make a lot of friends so you can see what they all look like!). It is always exciting to walk into a new friend's apartment and see the differences!
Fast Friends
It is very easy for any type of person to make friends here at The Washington Center. Whether you're shy (like me sometimes), super outgoing, or a little more reserve, everyone here welcomes you with open arms. I was surprised by how friendly everyone was! Although I have not been here long (this is my 2nd full week), I know that these will be life long friends. And the good thing about that is that everyone here is going to be something BIG, whether it be in the government, nonprofit, or business world. The connections you make here will go far!
Another great thing is...there are people from all over the world here!!

A couple of great new friends I met!
Fun
There is always something to do in DC. Museums, shopping, great food, monuments, bars, night clubs. There is something in DC for everyone and life here never gets old. Don't get me wrong, being in this program is definitely a lot of rewarding work, but you will always have plenty of free time to explore the city. Hey, I've only been here 2 weeks and I am already looking for a way to stay here longer like over the summer, maybe.
