Being here in DC has been one of the best experiences I have had in a while. I know I had said this several times through out my blog entries, but I am serious! I went from this little timid individual who studied all the government processes and things like that to actually working on things that concern this body. It has been an amazing experience. I met some of the most ambitious people I have ever met here. But I don't want to downplay the negatives.

As I sit plugging away and trying to get all my last minute work done for TWC's required portfolio, I can't help but to sit back and think that my experience here is slowly winding down. I am actually leaving DC a couple of days early to prepare for a study abroad trip that will happen directly after this program is over. Of course I worked everything out with my boss and with my program advisor beforehand.

Metro WARS

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Now I know several of my other fellow bloggers has spoken about their dismay with the Metro system in Washington. I have many of the same grievances against it as they do. I hate being pushed and shoved by people attempting to pile into a train as much as the next guy.   But I guess it could always be worse. Check out this picture that I saw of the subway system in Tokoyo, Japan.

Law School?.....mmm maybe not.

Time is slowly starting to wind down guys! It's crazy to imagine that I have been here since January, and it is now mid-April. I feel like I have become a pro at this city! I know that whenever I venture back here (because I am sure that I will), I will be much more skilled at how this city operates than the average JOE! But I must say that I am kind of ready to leave.

My Comfort Zone...I'm out of it!

Monday, April 18, 2011

I decided to take a little break from the homework that I have been doing all day (Oh yes! You will have plenty of homework to do while you're here. Don't think like I did that in coming here you're escaping work for a semester. You will be surprised!) to update you a little on what has been taking up my life for the past couple of weeks. As I mentioned to you before in one of my previous blogs I was working as part of an advocacy group that went on Capitol Hill lobbying for a push for the American government to help in establishing a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

What's LOVE got to do with it?

Thursday, April 14, 2011

I know it's been a long time since I've posted for you avid readers! I've been extremely busy to say the least! I will have a blog posted about that as soon as things start to simmer down a little bit and I actually have time to BREATHE!! GEEZ! Anyways......I digress... What am I missing? Ok. I'm not venting or anything, I promise! But at the same time I have something to say. Now I don't proclaim to be an expert in love relations or anything of that nature, but I feel like there are a lot of unhealthy things going on around here at the RAF.

3...2...1...SHUTDOWN!

Let's have a brief moment of silence for our nation's federal government. ..................................................................................................

No Pictures, Just Memories

Friday, March 11, 2011

I know that it has probably been pretty boring to stare at my blogs full of words with little illustration. I don't really know what's going on with my camera though. At times it works, but at times it takes pictures that are too large to transfer over into this forum...and I have no idea what or if I did anything different. Call me technology-illiterate.

Midterm Review

Monday, March 07, 2011

As I sit here plugging things into my calendar that I have to do this month, I'm starting to realize that my time here is slowly winding down. We're halfway through! I have a full month of DC livin' under my belt (end of January + February) and a sizable dent in March started. Pretty soon, there's only going to be April left and then I must depart my life that I have started here and pick back up in Nashville. I decided to take the time out to rattle off a few things that I have learned since I've been here.
