All In All

All In All

Having been back in Texas for nearly a month now I am able to look back on my semester in Washington and "sum it up" in a way. Here is what I have summized:

  • There is very little I didn't like about DC. The people, the work, the weather, the history, everything together created for me an amazingly worthwhile experience that I will not soon forget.
  • I do not presently need to move back to DC. I did not catch "district fever," however much I loved DC what I came to realize was that Washington is not where I will begin my career. I will not go as far as to say that I do not hope to make it back there someday, but for now it is a memory I will keep as a memory.
  • One thing I do not miss about DC is the way that the city sets the tone for its inhabitants, much different than where I come from. This one is hard to explain, but when you are visiting (or living in) a bustling place like DC, all conversations, events, and overall energies are geared towards some "DC Experience." I enjoyed it while I was there, but was glad to get home and have a conversation about the weather!
  • It went faster than everybody said it was going to go....and they said it would go fast!
