A few weeks ago, my roommates and I took a visit to the National Gallery of Art in Washington D.C. It was a pretty large gallery containing a myriad of exhibits that displayed art from many different movements and time periods. Since it was so big, it wasn’t exactly the easiest to navigate.

It was my first week in the nation's capital. I thought that moving from rural upstate New York to metropolitan Washington D.C. for a semester wouldn’t be much of a change. In fact, the very first day I arrived in the city, I distinctly remember feeling like I was on top of a mountain, ready to combat any adversary that came my way.
