Front Row Seat to History

Tuesday, February 14, 2017

After a long day at my internship site, I finally got to our apartment building. As usual, I went to check the mail, hoping that I’d find a letter or even some junk mail with a few useful coupons. I pressed the button to call the elevator, rode it to the 6th floor and made my way inside the apartment. As I got rid of my tie and threw my suit on my bed, I laid down, trying to squeeze in a few minutes of sleep. Out of nowhere my roommate, Brandon, tells me that they are giving away passes to the Senate Gallery to see the filibuster on the Capitol.

A First Time for Everything

Monday, February 06, 2017

It was only 68 days ago that I found out I had been accepted into The Washington Center's (TWC) internship program. Flash forward to today, I'm living in Washington D.C. on my own, finding my way through the city and experiencing all of the "firsts" that come along with being in a new place.
