My Roommates at The Washington Center

My Roommates at The Washington Center

Now that my TWC semester has come to an end, I wanted to dedicate a short blog post to the guys I got to see each and every day. For 108 days, I lived in apartment 601 with the goofiest, funniest and smartest dudes ever.

When confronted with the idea of having roommates for the first time, I was a little nervous because I didn't know what to expect from them. I remember getting to my room the first day and saying: "Hi, my name is Daniel, nice to meet you" to these total strangers who I had to share living spaces with for the whole semester.

Our final night together. Back (l-r): Brandon and Matt. Front (l-r): Sergio and me.

Our apartment brought together four different personalities. Brandon, an upstate New Yorker quasi-Canadian, was an economics student with a passion for finance and investments. In the same room, Matt, a communications student with the best red hair ever, had a strong interest in Xbox FIFA. Finally, in my room was Sergio, a Spanish-speaking communications student from South Carolina. He was great at photography and video editing, and turned out to be one of the best soccer players I know. And so with that, we were set in 601 for the adventure that represented this spring semester internship.

I'm grateful to the three of them for being the best roommates I could possibly imagine. A bit of advice: communication, openness, and respect are the three main values to keep when you're about to have a semester-long roommate experience.

Lastly, I would like to congratulate Sergio and Brandon on their graduation last week. Keep achieving goals because - as Sergio said - "when one of us makes it, we ALL make it."

Until next week,
