49 D.C. Restaurants to Try

Tuesday, March 08, 2016

I give you a restaurant guide like no other! This list is from the locals, those who live in D.C. It is a compilation of recommendations from work colleagues, family and past TWC participants.   If you are looking for some good food in D.C., you don’t have to look long until you stumble upon some really great places! One note of caution: watch your pocket book or you may need to ask mom and dad for a bit more money.

Fake it 'til you make it

I have written posts about being motivated and having an optimistic perspective when you come to D.C., but this week I think it’s important to also note the trials and struggles you may face while transforming your life and career prospects. First, let me say that when they warned “this semester will be one of the most draining and hectic, yet rewarding semesters of your life,” they were not kidding.

The Road Ahead

Wednesday, February 17, 2016

This weekend I had the opportunity to go to the Renwick, an amazing gallery across from the White House. While I was walking around, I came across this installation and It got me thinking about the path ahead and how we never know what is waiting for us in the years ahead. This installation is the inspiration for this weeks post.

I don’t know if I can say that I was excited to come to D.C., and I don’t know where my enthusiasm went as the days drew closer to coming to TWC. I think it was a mixture of anxiety and the thoughts of “How am I going to afford this?!” that made my pre-departure so grueling.
