Take A Stand. Don't Be A Bystander

Saturday, February 27, 2016

“The greatest tragedy is not the brutality of the evil people, but rather the silence of the good people.”Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Have you ever wondered about what to expect (or what avoid) when you land your first internship?   If you have, welcome to my world. The pressure of performing well absolutely haunts me. I hear that even those who have been interns before still have some level of anxiety when approaching a new internship. Should that make me feel glad, or more scared?

D.C. Metro 101: Ride Like A Pro

Tuesday, February 16, 2016

It has now been nearly four weeks since my arrival in D.C. and I’m finally getting the hang of the way things work around here. For one, I’ve pretty much become an expert at taking the Metro. The Metro can be quite hard to get used to if public transportation is not your forte. In 2012, I made a 9466-mile trip from my home in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to embark on college life in Texas. It was hard at first, missing home, friends, family, and good, hot ‘nasi lemak’ (the national dish in my home country). But three-and-a-half years on, and the initial adjustment to life in America has become just a memory to me.
