A Visit from London

A Visit from London

In the beginning of each week, I find myself worrying that I'm not doing anything cool enough to share on the blog. What I fail to remember each time is that D.C. is an awesome city and there is ALWAYS something happening.

My time in D.C. so far would not have been so fun and active without my flatmates. The idea of sharing a room with a stranger for 4 months was one of the aspects I was least looking forward to prior to my arrival. I knew it was a normality in the U.S. from watching American movies, but it's definitely not a European thing. Turns out, I couldn't have been matched with better people! I remember reading a quote that goes something like 'you are an average of the 5 people you spend most time with.'

My Flatmates

I'm so lucky to be spending it with these guys.

One of our Brand Management assignments required us to go to Pentagon City Shopping Centre and analize its brand personality (great assignment right?). It's about 40 minutes on the Metro from NoMa and it has an overwhelming variety of stores.

Just a quick picture from my weekly run with Sam, where we found a Greek mythological fountain in front of the Library of Congress. Love finding gems like this throughout the city!

After a long week of work, there is no better way to relax than play some cornhole at a beer garden. Say hi Danny!

There is an awesome strip of bars, restaurants and shops by the naval yard. Ethan's stepdad was in town, so we decided to visit the Blue Jacket, a bar/restaurant which is also a brewery! On my second blog, I expressed my worry that I wouldn't find the coolest places before the end of my time in this incredible city, but so far so good!

Socks and Sandals

Guess what? My girlfriend and her parents are visiting me this week, all the way from London! It also means I am going to have to be an undercover tourist for the week (museums, yay!). Knowing I had this visit to look forward to halfway through the semester made dealing with missing home a lot easier. Make sure to read my blog next week for an intern's guide to being an undercover D.C. tourist.
