Farewell D.C.

Saturday, August 15, 2015

Welp, 10 weeks flew by (as I knew they would) and here I am, updating my last blog in an airport somewhere in Missouri due to a layover - the worst part about traveling.   The last week went by faster than I thought it would, simply because I had been alone for most of it, but my brother came and kept me company (and brought some of my luggage back, thanks bro!), and I got to sight see my favorite parts of D.C. for one last time this summer, and look at the museums that I had procrastinated with.

In the wise words of Donkey from the movie Shrek - I'm feeling quite alone. Being a quarter term student, I don't leave D.C. until Aug. 15, whereas my roommates left Aug.8.   All of them.

Around the World in 68 miles

I suggest you eat before reading this, as my stomach began grumbling half way through.   Food in D.C. isn't hard to find, but it is expensive to search for the perfect cuisine. What if it's Tuesday night around 10 and you're craving Chinese? What's the best delivery place? Or if your family comes to visit and you're expected to have the best options available?

You Can Sleep When You're Dead

Monday, July 27, 2015

This is the motto I urge you to live by, because your time here in D.C. (and life in general) is fleeting, so make the most of it! I know it is tempting to stay inside after a long day at work, or to skip social interaction because of that 7 am alarm - but what's the point of this then? D.C. has so much to offer, from unique food, people, and activities that go on EVERY SINGLE NIGHT.  So live it up before you're rushing to complete all the things on your bucket list with a few weeks to go.

Get Engaged

Monday, July 20, 2015

No, I don't mean with a diamond ring. Civic Engagement and our SMLS this week was a very interesting one, at least, for me it was. It started off at Howard University with a panel about Racism in America.
