This is it. As of Friday afternoon, I am officially a TWC alumna.

NPR and CT

This past week was my final Professional Track programming event and while it's strange to think that it's over, the session ended on a high note and provided another acronym.   NPR

If you've been keeping track, then you should have a good-sized list of acronyms by now. I know I do. This week I have two new acronyms to add to your list.   PPD

Each week when I'm writing my blog post, I check another week off my calendar, but I should be clear that this is not a grueling experience where I am counting down the weeks, days or minutes. In fact it's quite the opposite. With each week, I am able to check off more accomplishments and "only-in-D.C." experiences. However, as each week goes by, I find myself with less and less time left here in D.C. and Maryland.

MD to DE

Sunday, July 12, 2015

While my experience participating in The Washington Center has been great, everyone needs some time to relax. Things are still going great at TWC and my internship, but with only a couple more weeks left here in D.C., I wanted to make sure I took time to enjoy some of the non-TWC opportunities that were presented to me. That's why this week's acronyms are RB and DE.   Career Boot Camp

Happy Birthday, USA!   This past weekend the nation celebrated its 239th birthday, and while the celebration was technically only one day, the week leading up to it was full of excitement and anticipation. The entire city felt like it had a new energy about it and everywhere I went I encountered American flags, patriotic banners and other festive decorations. It was great to be able to experience something like this. In honor of this event, the acronym of the week is CVC.

Another week down, another week full new experiences. I've also been given some new assignments at my internship that I'm excited to begin working on. Overall, things are going well. While I continue to experience a lot of new people, places and things, this week I had the opportunity to return to a couple of the places I've already visited to learn even more. So while these acronyms may be somewhat familiar, my experiences were anything but routine.

Week 3: Check!

NoMa, the RAF and NASA

Friday, June 12, 2015

I've now been in D.C. for a little over two weeks and I have already done things I never thought I would have the opportunity to do and met people I never thought I would have the opportunity to meet. For example, just this week alone, I was able to sit in on meetings on Capitol Hill, talk to communications professionals from organizations like NASA, take a course with a professional in the communications field and eat lunch outside of the White House, which was just as fun as everything else for a non-D.C.

AASCU and the DMV

In addition to updating everyone on my first full week in D.C., I would also like to share two acronyms that have already become important to me.   AASCU
