Old Town Alexandria

Old Town Alexandria

Other then having snow on the first day of spring (is this Canada?), it turned out be a beautiful weekend here in the district. To celebrate the arrival of spring, a fellow Canadian and I rented a couple of bikes and went to Old Town Alexandria!

This was probably one of the activities I have enjoyed most while being here in Washington, since it was a great opportunity to get outside, do some exploring, and get some physical activity in at the same time. We started off by the National Mall and biked around the monuments.

After that we found our way over to the Mount Vernon bike path, which is fantastic because it will take you the whole way there! Not only that, but it is also a scenic path which follows along the river, and allows you to catch a bit of a break from city life.

Admittedly, it was quite chilly when we first started the ride, but once we reached Old Town the sun came out and it had warmed up. We spent the afternoon eating sushi, walking Old Town, shopping the boutique stores and eating fro-yo by the water.

Sunday was spent doing the usual stuff…catching up on homework, working out, and getting myself ready for the workweek ahead.

I hope you all have a great week and thanks for reading!
