So this weekend I turned 22, and just like TSwift, I’m really feeling it. Turning 22 is no fun though because it means I’m a real adult now, no more milestone birthdays for me.  Although not quite as eventful as my 21st, (I’ll spare you the details) I still had a great time celebrating with my friends here in D.C. The Washington Center has been keeping us pretty busy lately between class, civic engagement, programming, and ya know, our internships. (That place where I spend 40 hours a week.) You’re probably sitting there thinking, “Wow that poor kid. That doesn’t leave a lot of time for sightseeing and exploring the city.” But you’re wrong; I’ve managed to go somewhere new almost every other day. (Time management is crucial down here.

Well folks, it’s been over two weeks, and I’ve managed to survive living in the big city. I come from a small town in upstate New York, and when I went to college, moved to an even smaller town.

Potomac Fever

There's a phrase that's used to describe people who come to D.C. and become obsessed with the city, its power, its history, its culture. It's known as "Potomac Fever," and after only a week here, I already think I have a serious case of it.
