Having a Ball in D.C.

Monday, March 10, 2014

This Saturday February 22nd was the 10th Annual Viennese Ball hosted by the International Club of D.C. The event was no less than spectacular, with a regal ball room complete with a live orchestra and a full house of beautiful patrons. However, the most stressful and fun aspect of the whole event were the moments leading up to the magical evening. Despite all the ups and downs preparing for the event, in the end everything fell perfectly into place and contributed to yet another inspiring and unique D.C. experience.

General George Washington’s 282nd birthday also known as President’s Day February 17th, 2014 was a day to remember! I left my home in Maryland early in the morning and commuted by Metro into Virginia and then by bus to Mt. Vernon. The excitement was palpable, as hundreds and hundreds of people from all walks of life made the journey to celebrate with the founding father.

The Element of Intelligence

Monday, March 10, 2014

Week three has centered around one of the most anticipated events hosted by the executives of my firm. This event was invite only, and the finest members of the intelligence community were gathered to discuss current events and development of policy for the national security of the nation all while having dinner, drinks, and the finest company D.C. has to offer!

The Historical Phenomenal Monocle

Wednesday, February 26, 2014

January 28th 2014 started off with a BANG! I began my internship with The Potomac Advocates and five other interns. We are a dream team; the office has such great synergy between the executives, supervisor, and interns. The office is very encouraging of our professional development throughout D.C. and promotes every opportunity to visit Capitol Hill by attending Senate and House meetings, informational interviews, and unique invite only events. Interning in D.C. with such an incredible company and set of interns is truly a dream come true!

A Devil in D.C.

Sunday, February 23, 2014

My epic journey to D.C. began at the Sky Harbor Airport with my Mom and SENATOR JOHN MCCAIN!!!! This was so exciting because who better to share a flight to D.C. with than the 2008 Presidential Candidate and the Arizona Senator himself. He was incredibly kind and gracious, he even waited for me to de-board the plane and posed for a photo op at the D.C. airport and wished me luck during my stay! I have a feeling we will meet again…
