Fall Festivities

Monday, October 01, 2012

Fall is upon us and everyone is welcoming the brisk mornings and pumpkin-spiced lattes. Experiencing Fall in D.C. is exciting and definitely something new. There's been rumors of trick-or-treating at the embassies for international candies which is bound to be a highlight of this fall season. This weekend I got to take a little getaway to Hillbruck Farm in Maryland to catch up with some alumni from my university. While you're in D.C. it's definitely a prime opportunity to connect with other people from your university.

Campaigning in Connecticut

Thursday, September 20, 2012

You really never know what opportunities are going to come to you while in the city. A co-worker passed on some information to me last week about the D.C. Young Republicans (DCYRs) deployment to campaign in Connecticut this past weekend. Well, count me in! Two fellow TWC interns and I decided to make the commitment to go. By Friday evening we found ourselves at the Capitol Hill Club chatting with other DCYRs in preparation for the trip.

Food, Fashion, & Fabulousness

Thursday, September 20, 2012

As all other bloggers have said, it's crazy we've been here over three weeks. Between my internship, teaching myself how to cook, spending time at happy hour and my TWC assignments, time is flying by! I feel like my whole life changed in only a few short days. I must say though, it's been a pretty easy transition into the D.C. lifestyle.

Concerts on the Corner

Friday, September 14, 2012

I've only been in D.C. a few weeks but to put it simply, I love it. After becoming a metro-master, I easily found my way around town and got integrated into the city. People everywhere seem to be happy. The sun has been shining and an air of success is always in the breeze. Something I've definitely noticed while being here is that people love music. Street corners, metro stops, and parks are always filled with the sound of instruments and individuals showing off their musical talents.

The 5 W's

Friday, September 14, 2012

The 5 W's are the blueprint to any journalist's leading story. Since journalism is one of the countless careers I'm currently considering, I've decided to introduce myself as only a true journalist would. And this one is breaking news...
