Five Days Left...

Five Days Left...

What's up, folks?

Everything is starting to really wind down over here in London. As we all prepare to head home in less than a week, we are busy with packing, finishing up at our internships, and saying goodbye to one another. It's such a bittersweet feeling to know that in a week, I won't be in my flat with my roommates, at my internship, or taking the same classes. But one thing's for sure: my time here was definitely well spent!

The Packing Process

Packing has become such an intense activity for me over the past few days. I initially arrived in London with two large suitcases, a carry on suitcase and a backpack. When I got here, all of my bags were packed to the maximum capacity. Now, seeing that I've purchased so many different outfits, a few new pairs of shoes, and even a new handbag or two, it just seems as if I'm never going to fit everything into my bags! So far, I've eliminated about 15 pounds worth of clothing that I plan on donating. However, it still doesn't seem as if I'm going to be able to get my bags home in one piece... I'm exploring every possible option so that I don't have to get rid of all of my clothing!

There are a few food items that I've grown quite fond of over my time here in London, and I'm also trying to figure out how's the best way to bring different biscuits, teas, and other foods home without causing too much attention going through customs. I'm also contemplating how to get all of my souvenirs for my family home in one piece. I clearly didn't think this through when I was buying the gifts, because I have a heap of objects that can definitely break in transit. Oh well, I'll figure it out....in the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, HELP MEEE!!

So, there are a bunch of things that I realize I still haven't done. I'm making a little list, and hopefully I can cross them all out over the next five days!

My List of Things I Still Need to Do Before I Leave:

1. Try a full English breakfast

2. Visit the Tower of London

3. Tour Buckingham Palace

4. Visit Parliament in the day time

5. Buy London souvenirs

6. Ride the London Eye when it's NOT raining

7. Stand on the wrong side of the escalator on the Tube

8. Ride every London Underground train line (so far I've ridden on about 7 of the 10)

9. Go on one last shopping spree on Oxford Street

10. Visit Harrods (and buy something)!

11. Have a conversation with a London taxi driver

12. Go at least 12 hours straight, speaking in an English accent

13. Yell 'God Save The Queen' on the Tube

14. Cross London Bridge

15. Go ice skating with the roomies!

I'm pretty confident that I can get all of it done.5 days, let's go.

I'll update you guys as I'm crossing things off the list!!
