The Washington Center’s Gala 2010 was presented by Ford Motor Company. The Washington Center’s Gala 2010: Transforming Potential into Achievement was a great success and marked the organization’s 35th anniversary. Gala 2010 was held at the National Building Museum, had over 440 partners and friends in attendance and raised over $400,000 for scholarships that make our program accessible to students regardless of their backgrounds. Bob Schieffer, Anchor of CBS’ Face the Nation, served as our Master of Ceremonies and the event honored Congressman Xavier Becerra, Senator Thad Cochran and Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
The Washington Center’s Gala 2010 celebrated the impact our programs have on our more than 50,000 alumni and the influence they have on their communities. Gala 2010 also celebrated the many individuals and organizations that partner with us to develop our students’ talents and turn their ambition to a greater purpose.
Presented by Ford Motor Company, the event paid tribute to our partners and the vision on which The Washington Center was founded – that the right experience can transform students’ lives, setting them on a course of achievement, leadership, and civic responsibility. The Washington Center’s network of partners is invaluable in promoting access to our programs and enabling college students worldwide to create networks of their own. We thank Ford Motor Company for being the presenting sponsor of Gala 2010: Transforming Potential into Achievement.
