Gala is an annual celebration of both The Washington Center’s partners and our mission.  We honor remarkable individuals who have supported our academic internship and seminar programs, who have made it possible for us to bring more than 2,000 college students each year to Washington, D.C, and whose lives exemplify TWC’s three pillars: professional achievement, leadership, and civic engagement.

The annual gala is our largest and most important fundraising event.  Proceeds are designated to scholarships and help to fund  more that two million dollars in financial aid The Washington Center provides to 80 percent of our students each year.

More than 450 guests attend this celebratory event and highlights the network of our critical partners.  They come from our many diverse constituent groups: members of our affiliated universities; some of our more than 45,000 alumni; board members; corporate and foundation sponsors; congressional leaders, and other close friends of The Washington Center.

Former Transportation Secretary and Mrs. Norman Y. Mineta, and Bill and Lisa Ford, Jr. serve as honorary co-chairs of our annual gala.   The evening is presented by Ford Motor Company.

A cocktail reception is followed by a seated dinner and program.  During the program, The Washington Center pays tribiute to the event’s honorees.
