In groups organized by the student services staff, on your own, or with fellow interns, you'll be able to enjoy Washington's countless attractions. Washington offers a world of scenic and architectural beauty and cultural activities throughout the year. World-famous monuments provide a striking backdrop to cherry blossoms in the spring, concerts on the National Mall during the summer, and the festive lighting of the national tree in the winter. You'll find flower-filled green spaces, like Rock Creek Park, throughout the city. Washington's museums are among the finest and most visited in the world. They range from the Smithsonian museums--the National Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Art, American History Museum, Museum of African Art and others (all free!)--to the Corcoran and Phillips galleries, Holocaust Museum and the new Spy Museum. World-class performances of theatre, music and dance are available year-round at the Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, and numerous other venues.
