D.C. Internship Program Offerings

The Internship

During your 10 or 15 weeks in the nation’s capital, you’ll participate in a four or four and one-half day per week internship. A professional program advisor in one of about a dozen program areas will help you to explore the best internships in the Washington, D.C. area. He or she will refer your application to potential sites based upon your interests - usually between five and eight - and you can track where your materials have been sent. You will likely have phone interviews and will have the opportunity to accept or decline offers extended to you.

The Washington Center serves students in all majors and they intern in a wide variety of fields, including government, nonprofit, business and many others that partially overlap with them - the worlds of media and communications, science and technology, law and criminal justice and international affairs.
