Governors Program
After six successful years, the Governors Program is gaining more presence in Mexican States. Today, many Mexican Governors provide full funding to students competitively selected by each state government. These participants come to The Washington Center to obtain professional and academic training in areas related to the economic and social development of their State. By attracting investment, they develop a project that positively improves the well-being of their region and communities. When they complete the program, projects are presented to their state governor.
We receive participants from the states of Chihuahua , Hidalgo , Tabasco , Morelos, Tamaulipas , Yucatan , Campeche , Quintana Roo. Our commitment for the upcoming year is to renew the agreements with seven states: Chihuahua , Coahuila , Tabasco , Campeche , Quintana Roo , Veracruz and Hidalgo and to establish new agreements with four states: Nuevo Leon, Queretaro, Sonora , Tamaulipas.
As a new generation of young leaders emerge from this program, we are dedicating our efforts to strengthen our alumni association. Our leaders are placed in key positions in the private and public sectors. Bringing them together represents a unique opportunity to improve the results of our program for the new generations to come. Jointly with the alumni associations in each state, we are developing ways to collaborate and to involve them in The Washington Center's activities and programs.
