![]() Cost and Financial AssistanceUniversity ArrangementsStudents attending The Washington Center earn academic credit from their college or university for their internships. They are therefore eligible to receive their usual federal and state financial aid, up to the cost of attendance, through the institution granting the credit, if their own resources are not sufficient to cover the cost of attendance. Students who anticipate their costs may be higher when participating in our program than when they are in residence at their home institution, may want to request a recalculation of their financial need. Students should seek guidance from professionals in the university’s financial aid office as they are a great resource, and the earlier these professionals become involved on a student’s behalf, the better. Many of our U.S. students pay tuition to their schools, which then forward all or part toward payment of The Washington Center’s program and/or housing fee. Other students receive assistance from their home institutions in the form of waived tuition. To the extent schools assist in this way, a student need to pay The Washington Center only the fees remaining on their Washington Center balance.
