Early Deadlines

All dates contained on this page are intended to provide a guideline as to when students should apply in order to become candidates at agencies that select their interns prior to our regular application deadline. Dates are generally based upon the timeframe in which student materials were forwarded to the agencies in past semesters.

The below is not exhaustive and dates are not guaranteed. Students who want to be considered at the type of placements listed here (many of which require that interns offered positions eventually obtain security clearance) should apply at the beginning of the early deadline range in order to ensure that referrals could be made in time to meet internal deadlines for all agencies in this category.

Please note that placements at the agencies below are generally available only to degree-seeking students and some require an additional application form.  Not all early-deadline agencies are available to quarter students.

By meeting the early deadline for and indicating your interest in certain placements, you are requesting that your application be sent to those agencies for consideration. You are not applying for a security clearance. A clearance will be opened by, and will be the responsibility of the agency, only after you are offered and accept an internship.

* Congressional offices require early application for the summer term only. Please note that students should declare a party affiliation in order to be considered for most internships on Capitol Hill.
