What Is A Campus Liaison?

A campus liaison is the individual at your university who has been designated to assist students with their application to The Washington Center. In order to be considered for acceptance into The Washington Center, the liaison will need to approve your application and verify that you will be receiving credit for your participation in our program. The liaison will indicate his/her approval by either signing the hard copy version of the application or, in the case of an online application, he/she will email The Washington Center that you have been approved to attend our program.

The Washington Center will submit evaluations and recommended grades to the liaison at the end of the internship program.

How can I find out if my campus has a designated liaison?

What if my school does not have a designated liaison?

We welcome applications from students from non-affiliated institutions (i.e. institutions where a liaison has not been designated). If your school does not have a liaison you will still need to secure the approval of a campus sponsor. You may want to contact your academic advisor, the director of internships or cooperative education, director of career services, associate dean or head of your department. The individual who serves as your campus sponsor will need to verify that you will receive credit for participating in our program. The sponsor will indicate his/her approval by either signing the hard copy version of the application or, in the case of an online application, he/she will email The Washington Center that you have been approved to attend our program. He or she will also agree to receive evaluations and recommended grades at the end of the semester or term.
