How do I register?Visit http://portal.e.twc.edu to access the online application. Registrants should select “Faculty Fellow” on the drop down menu.
When is the program?The program begins at 9:00 am, Monday, June 6, 2011 and ends approximately 1:00 pm on Friday, June 10.
Who should attend the seminar?The seminar is primarily for college faculty and advanced graduate students who teach courses related to presidential election campaigns. Disciplines such as history, communications, journalism and related fields are welcome besides those in political science and government. During the program, faculty may be divided into groups to allow those from similar institutions or fields to discuss common curricular ideas.
What is the format of the seminar?The seminar will combine a series of lectures, discussions, site visits, tours, and briefings to allow for faculty to interact with individuals who are experienced with presidential campaigns. In some cases, the participants may serve as the audience for a C-SPAN program.
Where is the seminar located?Sessions will take place at The Washington Center for Internships & Academic Seminars, C-SPAN, and possibly other locations such as The National Press Club and U.S. Capitol.
Is housing or transportation included?Housing and transportation are not included. The Washington Center has reserved some room blocs at various prices within or near the District of Columbia. For more information about these options, please e-mail us at seminars@twc.edu.
How much is the seminar?The cost of the seminar is $1,495. This includes registration and text materials, refreshments, some brown bag lunches and formal dining events with invited speakers. Final payment is due by May 23, 2011.
If I register and must withdraw, can I get a refund or send someone in my place?Refund requests must be submitted in writing no later than April 30, 2011. Between May 1 and May 21, a 50% refund can be requested. There is no refund after May 22, but substitutions will be allowed until June 1, 2011.
