An internship with The Washington Center is a richly rewarding experience that stays with you for the rest of your life. Students who excel at TWC are highly-motivated, pursue academic excellence, and have a strong sense of where they want their career to develop.

There’s more to explore about the internship programs at The Washington Center and more information for students from outside the U.S. If you’re ready to look into the opportunity, here’s what you’ll need to know.

Application Process

Applications can be sent year-round and applicants are accepted on a rolling basis. There are some key dates and deadlines that you should strive to meet for each semester, especially for more competitive programs and scholarship opportunities.

International students are encouraged to apply by the competitive deadline in order to have enough time to process the J-1 visa paperwork. Although we encourage students to use the online application, please contact enrollment@twc.edu if you would like to obtain a hard copy version. Once TWC receives your complete application, you can expect to hear a decision via email within two or three weeks.

Visa Requirements

Students from institutions outside the U.S. must come with J-1 visa from The Washington Center. The purpose of this visa is to provide international participants with opportunities for professional development, insight into American know-how in the field of training, and a greater understanding of American society and culture. The Washington Center will assist you with the necessary paperwork to obtain the visa.

Paying for TWC The Washington Center works hard to make its programs accessible to everyone. There are some scholarship opportunities for international students and we also encourage international applicants to discuss the program cost with your university in order to find out if there is additional funding available through the university, your local state, province or government or public and private entities.
