DNC academic seminar participants started their day with a V.I.P. tour of the Time Warner Cable Arena in Uptown Charlotte! During the tour, students received an exclusive first look of the convention venue before the rest of the public and even before most delegates and politicians attending next week!
After the sneak peek of the Time Warner Cable Arena, students returned to The Blake Hotel for more DNC programming. Seminar participants heard from Aaron Brown, Journalist in Residence from Arizona State University, who spoke to students about the influence of Political Advertising during presidential campaigns and elections. He was followed by William DeMora, Policy and Elections Consultant from the Ohio Delegation.
Mr. Brown and Mr. DeMora helped wrap up a week of programming at The Blake Hotel, helping students transition smoothly into an upcoming week of fieldwork placements with organizations like CNN and Fox, CarolinaFest 2012 taking place on Labor Day and DNC speakers like Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton!
