Summer interns from the Science, Technology and Society (STS) program presented their research findings via abstract posters at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) [1] headquarters located in Silver Spring, MD. The interns displayed their abstracts by concisely describing the objectives, methods, results and conclusions that the Abstract Committee evaluated on both the quality of the intern’s work throughout the semester as well as the verbal presentation. Each student was required to detail:
- Introduction-background information and purpose of the project/study
- Methods-study design and techniques
- Results-summary of data
- Conclusion

During the discussion, the STS interns answered questions from audience members and received kudos from supervisors and mentors: Dr. Ron P. Brown, Toxicologist; Dr. John W. Karanian, Research Physiologist and Dr. Haile Yancy, Biologist.
