Once a semester, TWC interns have the opportunity to hear from some of the leading members in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors during TWC's Roundtable on Philanthropy and Social Responsibility. The panelists, who attended the July 23rd event, came from a variety of backgrounds but still shared one major thing in common: the desire to help nonprofit realms like corporate citizenship and philanthropy evolve to their full potential. Anna Cable, program manager of the Tomodachi Initiative at the U.S.-Japan Council [1], moderated the exciting event.

One of the biggest lessons learned by interns at the end of the event is that there isn't a huge difference between nonprofit and corporate sectors because both are run using a businesses model and generally need to make a profit at the end of each fiscal year in order to survive. The big difference is where that profit ends up!
