Patrick Ignozzi '90

For a decade and a half, Ignozzi manned the helm of "The View," ABC's Emmy-winning daytime talk show that spawned a legion of imitators. "The View's" ratings dominance earned Ignozzi accolades including the 2002 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Producing, among many nominations. Recognizing Ignozzi's value to the company, ABC named him its vice president of current programming, development and syndication in January 2012.

A criminal law major as a Seton Hall University undergraduate, Ignozzi's internship with NBC News during his TWC program helped spark his interest in broadasting and his chosen career path. He's remained committed to TWC since then, serving as a member of the New York City Alumni Regional Community, speaking at the 2013 New York alumni reception and providing financial support.

Heather Mizeur '94

After several years of policy leadership on Capitol Hill and service in local governent, Mizeur won the right to represent Takoma Park and Silver Spring in the Maryland House of Delegates in 2006. She has spent her time in Annapolis working to expand health care to children, protect reproductive rights for women and safeguard the environment.

Mizeur's semester with TWC served as a springboard for her career, which includes nearly four years as former Sen. John Kerry's (D-MA) director of domestic policy and the principal architect for Kerry's health care agenda in the 2004 presidential campaign. She gives back to The Washington Center by serving as a gradious internship host, and 14 TWC students have worked with her office since 2012. TWC interns this past year had the unique opportunity to assist her run for Maryland governor. Though her bid ended with June's primary, Mizeur's rereshing, progressive campaign impressed voters and the media and activated a strong grassroots base.

Maxwell Gigle '08

A quintessential political junkie, Gigle says TWC gave him his first D.C. experience - and it was so great he's hardly ever left. He cut his teeth on Capitol Hill as a staffer for retired U.S. Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (D-CT) and today serves as the communications director for U.S. Rep. Sanford D. Bishop (D-GA).

Gigle unfailingly puts his political experience and connections into service on TWC's behalf. He has worked closely with TWC's internship site relations staff to place interns in congressional offices and secures meeting space in the Capitol Visitor Center for TWC's Politics and Public Policy program to host panel discussions. Gigle also attends as many TWC programs and events as possible, including the thrice-yearly ConnectTWC student-alumni networking workshop, the annual holiday party and last year's inaugural Alumni Awards Breakfast.
