Another summer and another opportunity to show Washington, D.C. interns how much we appreciate their hard work. With more than 60 businesses and retailers signed up for InternsROCK!, a city-wide intern appreciation week celebrating thousands of interns who come to the nation's capital each summer, The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) is currently gearing up for its most successful year yet. Each year since 2010, TWC has worked with area-wide vendors in D.C., Maryland and Virginia to provide tailored discounts for interns working in every industry, from the nonprofit to the federal sector.

The event is open to any intern in the D.C. area. From June 7-16th, interns who register individually to pick up a key tag will be eligible for special discounts offered by popular businesses and museums from previous years, like D.C. United, the Newseum and Sprinkles Cupcakes. TWC has also added exciting new vendors such as:

Additionally, host organizations can sign up all of their interns at once. It's a great way for any internship host to welcome their summer interns to the city!

TWC is also excited to announce the return of our "InternsROCK! Out" Facebook photo contest. Interns who receive the most Facebook “likes” on photos they submit visiting participating vendors will be eligible to win a $100 Visa gift card and other freebies from InternsROCK! businesses like &Pizza or Burger, Tap & Shake. Interns can visit our InternsROCK! Facebook page for more details on the contest, and to post their photos.

Last year, over 2,500 interns throughout the D.C. metro area participated in InternsROCK! TWC is excited to welcome back repeat vendors as well as new partners, and we're looking forward to strengthening and developing these relationships in the future. Most of all, TWC is happy to give back and show how much we appreciate all of the hard work D.C. area interns do for this city.
