Faculty Director selected for Cybersecurity 2017 Academic Seminar

We are pleased to announce that Christopher Mellen has been selected to serve as Faculty Director for The Washington Center’s Cybersecurity 2017 Academic Seminar. Through this seminar, participants will examine the issues surrounding cybersecurity and its future, engage with professionals working at the cutting edge of the field and explore career paths available in this global industry. Christopher Mellen has over 20 years of experience in cyber intelligence, computer forensics, insider threat detection and incident response services. He currently serves as Director in BDO Consulting’s Technology Advisory Services practice.


He is a former White House cyber executive with top secret security clearance. As Director of the Information Risk Management Directorate for the Executive Office of the President, Mellen was directly responsible for oversight of the Information Assurance, E-Discovery and Records Management Programs, as well as the Security Operations Center. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he previously served as Team Chief of the Incident Response Team with the U.S. Army’s Cyber Counterintelligence Activity.


In his role as Faculty Director, Mellen is responsible for choosing the topics of the seminar, arranging speakers and selecting background readings.
