Convention season is officially in the books as The Washington Center wrapped up the 2016 DNC Academic Seminar.

It all started 2 weeks ago when participants arrived from all around the country - from as close as Philadelphia to as far away as California - to learn what goes on behind the scenes as a political convention.

Participants heard from a number of influencers on both sides of the aisle, framing the issues in a bipartisan fashion. Speakers included:

Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell

Leah Daughtry, CEO of 2016 Democratic National Convention Committee

Nichola Gutgold, Penn State University

Seth Williams, District Attorney of Philadelphia

TWC wrapped things up on Thursday, witnessing history as Hillary Clinton became the first woman to accept the Democratic Party’s nomination for President.

Many convention participants will venture to Washington next january for the final installment of the campaign 2016 seminar series for Inside Washington 2017: The Presidential Inauguration. This seminar ties together concepts from the RNC and DNC seminars with a focus on how the next President can unite an America that has lost trust in it’s political process.
