Cordova & Fernós alumni around the Washington, D.C. area met for a special event on Tuesday, March 25th at Mio Restaurant for a meet and greet with the current spring 2014 participating in Cordova & Fernós program from Puerto Rico.

Around 20 alumni who completed the program in recent years and who are currently working & living in the nation’s capital joined current interns for the event while enjoying traditional Puerto Rican cuisine.

Alumni attendees included:

  • Jesus Alvarado (’04) who currently works as Assistant Justice Secretary in Puerto Rico.
  • Alan Boutureira (’08) who currently works at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Darienne Gutierrez (’07) who currently works at BLJ Worldwide.
  • Eila Sepulveda (’04), who currently works at the U.S. Department of State.
  • Edgardo Vazquez (’06) who currently works at Essentium Group, LLC.
  • Angelique Velez (’10) who currently works at the World Bank Group.

The event was also an opportunity for current spring 2014 to hear about the current professional experiences of Cordova alumni. For current spring 2014 intern Hector Ferrer, the event was a “great way to meet alumni and see how far they have come after completing the program. It’s really encouraging and motivating.”
