The Washington Center internship program is a rigorous academic experience and undergraduate students are required to earn credit for their participation. This credit is awarded by students' home institutions, not by The Washington Center. Colleges and universities that are affiliated with TWC have already agreed to award credit for this program; students should speak with their campus liaison about the applicable policies and procedures. Students from unaffiliated institutions are welcome, too. They will simply have to secure a campus sponsor who can verify that the students will receive credit for their work.
Grades & Evaluations
Three evaluations containing recommended grades will be sent to your designated liaison or campus sponsor. First, there is the Internship Site Supervisor Final Evaluation, which is based on performance at the internship. Next, the Course Instructor Final Evaluation is based on performance in the evening course. And finally, the Program Advisor Final Evaluation is based largely on portfolio requirements and attendance at required programming.
Graduate StudentsGraduate students wishing to receive credit facilitated by The Washington Center must enroll in one of the main internships programs instead of the Postgraduate Professional Development Program.
