With its unique environment, ancient indigenous peoples, and vibrant contemporary culture, Australia has long held a fascination for visitors from around the world.

It is also one of the most popular study-abroad destinations for U.S. students.  Australia’s oldest and largest city, Sydney is a wonderful base from which to learn about the continent and the larger Pacific Rim.  Home to the regional headquarters of some 500 multinational corporations, it is a center for communications and media as well as a corporate and financial center of the Asia Pacific.  This city of four million has a distinctive diversity as well, with large immigrant populations from South Asia.   It boasts a sunny and moderate climate and a relaxed way of life.
