The Washington Center Endowment Fund

The Washington Center's Endowment Fund provides donors a personal way to express their values and ideals about the importance of experiential learning and  create a personal legacy. Whether it's a gift to build the general endowment fund, a scholarship fund to support promising college students in a particular field, providing more opportunities for students to participate in TWC's world-class civic engagement programs, or another activity that reflects the benefactor's passion, an endowment is timeless because the dollars are not "spent" like annual gifts.

Gifts to the Endowment Fund are invested by TWC in accordance with the organization's investment policy, and the income earned is directed to programs and purposes identified by TWC each year. Unrestricted gifts to this fund may be made in any amount and help TWC remain nimble and responsive to new challenges and opportunities, and to provide continued scholarship support.

A corporation or organization may also choose to establish an endowed fund in their own name or to recognize and honor friends, family members, colleagues, and mentors. Two or more donors may propose to work together to set up an endowment with the approval of TWC leadership. A minimum gift of $100,000 is required to establish a named scholarship or program endowed fund; higher minimum amounts may be required for specific purposes.
