The President’s Fund for Global Leadership

The Washington Center's programs develop internationally minded, locally engaged leaders in all walks of life. They prepare students to think critically and creatively, communicate clearly and logically, be flexible and non-dogmatic, embrace ambiguity and complexity, and understand the world's challenging business, political, religious, and cultural issues.

The President's Fund for Global Leadership reflects TWC's commitment to enrich and enliven the professional and cultural horizons of the internship and seminar experience, promote greater cross-cultural understanding, and help prepare students for leadership roles in a global society.

Unrestricted contributions to the fund are used at the discretion of the President to support scholarships that enhance ethnic and cultural diversity among students and programs that build and strengthen our global community.

Alumni donors also may direct gifts at or above $5,000 to the following fund initiatives:

  • The Competitiveness Initiative -  Interns enter the TWC program in one of seven core work and programming areas, and TWC provides academic and professional learning activities specific to students' professional goals to give them tools to help their home cities and communities become more competitive in a global society.
