Road to the White House: Faculty Seminar
A one-week Academic Seminar in Washington, D.C.

June 6-10, 2011

The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars is proud to announce the creation of its very first academic seminar exclusively for Faculty. This program is designed specifically for those who teach courses related to presidential campaigns and elections.

Participants will get behind-the-scenes perspectives from experienced campaign professionals, media analysts and others with intimate knowledge of campaigns. Steve Scully, political editor and senior executive producer for C-SPAN, Dr. Stephen Wayne, author and professor of government at Georgetown University, Frank Fahrenkopf and Mike McCurry, Co-Chairs of the Presidential Debates Commission, are just few of the speakers we have lined up and confirmed for this seminar.

By attending this seminar, participants will increase their knowledge of the intricacies of presidential election campaigns and bring a unique perspective back to their classrooms through the development of more interactive syllabi and curricula. The access to an impressive list of speakers, site visits, tours and briefings, with resources such as the C-SPAN archives, should make this seminar truly one-of-a-kind and a “must-do” for anyone teaching presidential campaigns and elections during the coming election cycle.
