In securing a permanent home, The Washington Center marks a new milestone as a premier nonprofit educational organization, incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1975. The Washington Center’s new home is a five-story mansion, circa 1915, and the former Nigerian Chancery. Located in one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in Washington D.C., our new headquarters are six blocks north of the White House. The graceful Italianate building will be home for our 70-member staff. In addition, the carriage house is being transformed into an academic center, which includes classrooms and common areas for student and staff activities.
