Ohio-TWC Partnership Celebration

TWC celebrated 15 years of partnership with the state of Ohio during a reception at the Athletic Club in downtown Columbus, Ohio. Since the late 1990s, the Ohio General Assembly has included Washington Center-specific scholarship support for Ohio based students in its bi-annual budget; to date, more than 1,400 students have benefited from the funding.

 

TWC Welcomes 400 Internship Program Participants

TWC welcomed over 400 new spring interns during an orientation ceremony held at the Blinken Auditorium. The newest group of students represent a total of 164 colleges and universities worldwide, traveling from over 35 U.S. states, including Puerto Rico, and 14 countries including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Mexico, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom.

 

TWC Kicks Off the Fall Semester with 500 New Interns

The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) welcomed nearly 500 interns to Washington, D.C. during their two-day fall orientation on August 30th and 31st at the Residential and Academic Facility (RAF). The first day kicked off with the interns being formally introduced to their TWC program advisors and participating in program activities such as a U.S. Capitol tour and National Portrait Gallery exhibit. TWC President Mike Smith visited with various programs to start meeting students.

TWC Welcomes 2012 Summer Interns During A Two-Day Orientation

TWC welcomed nearly 550 new interns to Washington, D.C. during their two-day summer orientation on May 24th and 25th. The first day kicked off with the interns being formally introduced to their TWC program advisors and participating in program activities. There are more than 9 programs offered by TWC, catering to interns from all backgrounds and majors. Interns ended their first day of orientation with ice cream socials taking place at four summer housing locations.

 

2012 Prudential Foundation Global Scholars Visit the Company's Headquarters

The Prudential Foundation Global Citizens Program, a cohort of 26 international students from India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan, attended a two-day site visit from April 19-20 at Prudential Financial headquarters in Newark, New Jersey.

The Washington Center welcomed nearly 400 new alumni into their network of over 50,000 worldwide at the Residential and Academic Facility. The two hour celebration brought TWC staff, alumni, spring 2012 interns, and members of the board together to celebrate the achievements of the program throughout the last 15 weeks.

The piece features two alumni, Geoff Schaefer ('07) and Katie O'Connell ('05), who reminisce about their days as interns in Washington, D.C. Both alumni credit The Washington Center with helping them find tailor-made internships pertaining to their interests and helping them fill their resumes with experience that led them to careers they're passionate about.
