Premier of Manitoba is Featured Guest at Special TWC Event

Greg Selinger, Premier of Manitoba, was the featured guest of a special Sunday Public Policy Dialogues on Capitol Hill (PPDCH) event. The PPDCH events are part of The Washington Center's Internship Programs. More than 60 students, both international and domestic, attended his presentation at TWC's Residential Academic Facility, where the premier spoke on the topic of the role of subnational governments around the world. SMLS with Gary Doer, Canadian Ambassador to the U.S.

Ambassador Gary Doer is the Canadian Ambassador to the U.S., which he transitioned into in 2009 after his role as the Premier of Manitoba. Prior to his current position as Ambassador, Doer worked to enhance U.S.-Canadian cooperation on trade, agriculture, water protection, climate change and renewable energy. He was named one of the top 20 International leaders on climate change in Business Week magazine.

 

Canadian Embassy Hosts Special PPDCH Programming

As part of the Public Policy Dialogues on Capitol Hill (PPDCH) component of the TWC internship program, Canadian students attended an exclusive panel at the Canadian Embassy. Traditionally, PPDCH programming is reserved for students in the U.S. to visit with their senators or representatives. Since this opportunity isn't available to international students, TWC scheduled a special visit for Canadian students at the Embassy of Canada.
