Carlos F. Orta is the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), a national 501(c)(3) organization established in 1986 and based in Washington, DC.  HACR's mission is to advance the inclusion of Hispanics in corporate America at a level commensurate with their economic contributions.Since joining HACR in April 2006, Orta has developed programs that are instrumental in helping HACR accomplish its mission. Among the programs he has originated and implemented are:

HACR CEO Roundtable– an annual gathering of CEOs fromFortune 500and HACR corporate member companies that come together to discuss diversity and Hispanic inclusion in their respective companies

HACR Corporate Directors Summit– an annual summit that brings together Hispanics currently serving onFortune 500and HACR corporate member companies to discuss governance issues and share best practices

HACR Corporate Executives Forum™– an association of executives fromFortune 500and HACR corporate member companies who are within three reporting levels of the company’s president and chief executive officer.

HACR Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers™ Program– an annual program that identifies and recognizes young, up-and-coming, high potential, Hispanic corporate executives atFortune 500and HACR corporate member companies

Prior to joining HACR, Orta served in a variety of staff positions – external affairs, corporate foundation and government affair roles – at three Fortune 500companies: Anheuser-Busch, Inc., Ford Motor Company and Waste Management, Inc.

Orta has received several awards and recognitions throughout his career. Most recently he was selected byLatino Leaders magazine as one of the “101 Most Influential Leaders in the Latino Community.”

Orta is past chair of Leadership Miami, a graduate of Leadership Florida (Class XV), and has served on the board of directors of several organizations, including the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Great Kansas City, the Missouri State Chamber of Commerce and Padres Contra El Cancer. A graduate of Barry University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies, Orta was born in Havana, Cuba and currently resides in Arlington, VA.
