- Alumni Relations Intern The Washington Center Alumni Relations Office seeks an energetic, self-starter to serve as an Alumni Relations Intern. The intern will assist in promoting alumni activities and supporting the Director and Manager of Alumni Relations in implementing their strategic plan. The intern will help build mutually beneficial alumni relationships through working on outreach utilizing technology and other creative avenues.
- Alumni Recruiter The Alumni Recruiter in Institutional Relations conducts student recruitment at affiliated colleges and universities, working with campus liaisons to interest prospective applicants in pursuing the opportunities they could have in The Washington Center program.
- Director, Academic AffairsThe Director of Academic Affairs is responsible for supervising and providing leadership and assessment to adjunct faculty, the internship courses, seminar programs, study abroad programs, and other programs of The Washington Center. She/he will work collaboratively across departments and programs to develop assessment tools to measure and document student learning outcomes and programmatic outcomes. She/he will also help identify resource opportunities to build and support academic and curriculum goals that advance the goals of The Washington Center.
- Manager for Affiliations The Manager for Affiliations provides support to the senior vice presidents and other staff in efforts to engage colleges and universities as affiliates (formal partners) of The Washington Center. Participating in a team, he or she will be responsible for maintaining a database tracking affiliation efforts, for contacting and following up with prospective affiliates and for seeing that their needs for consultation and information are met.
- Program Coordinator, Public Policy Dialogues on Capitol HillThe Program Coordinator for Public Policy Dialogues on Capitol Hill is responsible for arranging meetings with members of Congress and/or their staff throughout the academic year for small groups of students. This program is part of The Washington Center’s overall internship and academic experience and is designed to facilitate discussions between students and their members of Congress (House/Senate) from their home district, state or region on relevant policy, political and community issues.
- Program Manager (Academic Seminars)The position is responsible for the administration, refinement and completion of a marketing plan for academic seminars, particularly The Washington Center’s Campaign 2012 series of programs held every four years in conjunction with the presidential election cycle. The person is expected to provide experienced advice as well as management of and involvement in the process of recruitment of students and faculty for the following programs as well as other related program offerings during a period of fall 2010 through the winter of 2013: Campaign 2012 Seminar for Professors; Inside Washington ’12, a Mock Republican National Convention, a Congressional Simulation, the Republican and Democratic National Conventions, and the Presidential Inauguration in 2013 and other seminars as needed.
