Linda Cotton, M.A.
Managing Director, Institutional Advancement
Linda Cotton has more than 15 years of experience in diversified fundraising and resource development at the regional, national, and international levels. At The Washington Center, she provides overall leadership for a comprehensive annual campaign -- including the development and implementation of fundraising platforms to ensure the alignment of donor goals with TWC's strategic priorities.
Linda oversees a team responsible for the design and stewardship of corporate and foundation partnerships, alumni philanthropy, donor relations, corporate and foundation communications, and the annual gala.
Prior to joining The Washington Center, Linda served as Vice President of Development at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute; Assistant Vice President of Development at the George Washington University, and Chief Development Officer at The Independent College Fund.
Linda earned a Master's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor's degree in Education and English from Boston University. She completed a Birkman Leadership Training program in 2011 and is a graduate of “Leadership Baltimore.”
Linda has served as a consultant for the Veng Group and the Hispanic Heritage Foundation. She is also a pro bono consultant for Children's Healthy Smile Project, helping develop strategies to meet fundraising goals. Linda has two children and lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
