Jennifer Clinton serves as The Washington Center’s Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Federal Relations. She oversees the general operations of the organization that has over 75 full-time staff members and an annual budget of $19 million. Jennifer has been involved in developing and guiding the organization’s strategic planning process and improved the organization’s infrastructure to support its mission. She provides vision and direction to the academic programs and curriculum development. She has developed and implemented technology solutions for the organization to improve efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, she has grown the organization’s strategic partnerships with the federal government through grants and contracts that total over $3 million per year.
Before her work at The Washington Center, Jennifer worked in international trade and education. She worked as a manager of international marketing for the Telecommunications Industry Association. She also worked as a special assistant to the executive vice president of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a government agency that provides financial services to U.S. companies who invest in emerging markets worldwide. Before her service at OPIC, Jennifer worked as program manager for the STS Foundation, a nonprofit, international educational exchange organization.
Jennifer earned her M.B.A. from the University of Maryland, a Ph.D. in French Literature from the University of California, Davis and her bachelor's degree in political science and French from Marquette University.
