Job Description

The Washington Center-Elon University Law School Legal Externship Consortium is seeking adjunct faculty to teach evening courses to law students from Elon and a number of other law schools beginning in January 2013 and continuing through the academic year. The courses would complement the legal experience in Washington, D.C. TWC has a potential need in the following particular areas, as well as others:

 

  • Administrative Law
  • Regulatory Law
  • Legislative Process
  • Other areas appropriate to D.C.-based externship experiences

Courses would meet once a week (Monday through Thursday) for three hours for fifteen weeks during the semester and for ten weeks during the summer. Classes are generally 12-18 students.

Education and Experience

Required qualifications include an earned J.D., with teaching experience and significant work as a practicing attorney required.

 

Equipment

Used to perform the job and which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position:

  • Standard office equipment including a facsimile machine, photocopier, and telephone system
  • Personal computer, job-related software and printer

The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, precise hand-eye coordination, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use repetitive wrist, hand, and/or finger movement, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
