2015 Annual Report

In 2015, we had partnerships that focused on social responsibility and strategic alignment based on common values. Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts, The Center for Global Understanding and El-Hilbri Charitable Foundation, Karen Price Ward '92 and Brian Bieron '87 are only a few examples of great partners that continue to guide our interns to lives of service and purpose.

During 2014, our work focused on four key areas: Access and Oppotunity, Global Leadership, Civic Engagement and Public Life, and Professional Development. Strategic partnernships and individual philanthropy supported the great strides TWC has made in each of these areas. Annual Report 2013

2013 Annual Report

In 2013, TWC witnessed unprecedented expansion of our organization’s global reach, such as a new partnership with the government of Gibraltar, a partnership with the U.S.–Japan Council and U.S. Japan Research Institute to expand opportunities for students from Japan, and the 20th Anniversary of the Córdova & Fernós Internship Program sponsored by the Puerto Rico Legislature.

2012 Annual Report

During 2012, The Washington Center reached several milestones that we are proud to share with you in this report including reaching 50,000 alumni, receiving our largest contribution ever from the Prudential Foundation, distributing more than $4 million in financial aid, and making important additions to our leadership.

This annual report highlights the bold steps TWC took in 2011 to reach our goals, the work on our five-year strategic plan which includes solidifying our organization’s foundation, strengthening our program’s efficacy and reach, and advancing the theory and practice of experiential education, and the celebration of our 35th anniversary.

Annual Report 2010

2010 Annual Report

In 2010, we added more than 2,000 students to the growing ranks of TWC alumni, we welcomed our first group of students from Japan, South Korea, India, and Taiwan, sponsored by the Prudential Foundation, worked with the government of Flanders, Belgium, to bring students to TWC from universities in that nation, raised over $2.5 million in scholarship funds from private and state supporters, opened our residential and academic facility just eight blocks from Capitol Hill, and strengthened our leadership, staff, and board of directors.

Annual Report 2010

2009 Annual Report

In 2009, TWC partnered with 130 colleges and universities to bring their students to President Obama’s inauguration, awarded five institutions with our Higher Education Civic Engagement Awards, partnered with the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University to establish a new Washington, D.C. Legal Externship Program, and more.
